Kenneth R. Smith, M.D., FACS

Dr. Smith is a native of Frankfort, Kentucky. After obtaining his undergraduate
degree from West Virginia Wesleyan in 1993 and his medical degree from the
University of Louisville in 1997, Dr. Smith did his internship in trauma and
general surgery at West Virginia University. Following this, he completed
a competitive ophthalmology residency at the University of Louisville in 2002.
During his residency, he served on many university committees and was selected
by the faculty to serve as chief resident during his final year.

In addition to owning his own private practice, Dr. Smith is also the medical director of the Joffe Medicenter in Louisville. He also serves as an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Louisville Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences where he oversees resident surgeries.
Dr. Smith specializes in cataract and refractive surgery.
He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. His professional
memberships include the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society
of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the International Society of Refractive
Surgery, the Louisville Academy of Ophthalmology, Kentucky Academy
of Eye Physicians and Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. His continued education through these organizations
has allowed Dr. Smith to stay at the leading edge of technology allowing him
to offer his patients the most current procedures in refractive and cataract
surgery.
